Great and Small is a Maryland-based nonprofit organization founded in 1998. We offer Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to children and adults of all ages affected by a diverse range of physical, developmental, emotional, and learning disabilities. We harness the unique power of horses to empower individuals and help them achieve their full potential.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide transformative equine-assisted activities and therapies to individuals with disabilities, fostering growth, empowerment, and a sense of accomplishment. Through a supportive and therapeutic engagement with horses, we help our riders:

• Develop physical skills and coordination
• Manage anxiety and emotional challenges
• Build self-confidence and self-esteem
• Improve communication and social interaction
• Achieve greater independence and quality of life

What We Do

Great and Small offers a variety of programs and services, including:

• Therapeutic Riding: Individual and group horseback riding lessons tailored to each rider's needs and abilities
• Adaptive Riding: Specialized riding programs for individuals with specific disabilities
• Occupational Therapy: Horseback riding incorporated into occupational therapy goals to address functional skills and sensory processing
• Equine-Assisted Therapy: Working with horses to address therapeutic goals in individual and group sessions
