Our Story

Open Space is a warm and inviting sanctuary for yoga and more in the heart of Anchorage. Our vision is to be open to all who walk through our doors and help cultivate the vibrant Anchorage community. We strive to create a space where individuals can come together to practice yoga, dance, meditation, massage, bodywork, and other holistic practices.

Our Services

At Open Space, we offer a variety of classes, workshops, retreats, trainings, and special events. We have a diverse range of classes to suit all levels of practice, from beginner to advanced. Our classes include:

  • Yoga: We offer a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative Yoga.
  • Dance: We offer dance classes, including Belly Dance, Dance, and Movement classes.
  • Bodywork: We offer massage, Thai bodywork, and reflexology to help alleviate stress and promote relaxation.
  • Breathwork: We offer breathwork sessions to help individuals connect with their breath and calm their minds.

Rent Our Studio

Our studio is available for rent by the hour, perfect for private yoga classes, workshops, or events. We also offer space use for special events, workshops, and retreats.

Meet Our Teachers

Our teachers are experienced and passionate about their craft. They will guide you through your practice, providing modifications and adjustments to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • Svia Rothstein: Founder and owner of Open Space, Svia is a seasoned yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience.
  • Lynne Opstad: A certified yoga instructor with a strong background in anatomy and physiology.
  • Karen Lease: A seasoned yoga teacher with a focus on mindfulness and self-awareness.
  • Sebastian Eckmann: A certified yoga instructor with a strong background in meditation and breathwork.
  • Linda Hulen: A certified yoga instructor with a focus on flexibility and strength.
  • Leigh Lubin: A certified yoga instructor with a focus on alignment and anatomy.
  • Betsi Oliver: A certified yoga instructor with a focus on meditation and relaxation.
  • Amy Conklin: A certified breathwork instructor with a focus on stress relief and relaxation.
