Our Lady Of Good Counsel High School

At Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, we are more than just a high school. We are a Catholic, co-educational community that inspires each student to excel, serve, and love in his or her unique way. Our school was founded by Xaverian Brothers as a college-preparatory school for boys in 1958 and opened our doors to young women thirty years later. Today, we educate over 1,200 students each year in the Xaverian tradition of academic excellence and caring through the values of simplicity, humility, compassion, zeal, and trust.

Our school offers the broadest academic and extracurricular opportunities in the region, led by a highly-skilled and invested faculty. Our program of study prepares each student for success in college, allowing them to choose courses within one academic program or select courses from different programs according to their aptitude, interest, and ability. Our teachers foster lasting relationships and provide rigorous academic programs for all levels of learning.

In addition to our academic offerings, Good Counsel's faith formation and service opportunities, as well as more than 60 cultural and academic clubs, cultivate students' interests. Our Fine Arts curriculum inspires our students to read, interpret, and express themselves in a way that promotes an ongoing appreciation for the arts. Furthermore, our Club Program fosters students' exploration of their areas of interest, and builds social and leadership skills.

Good Counsel has a well-known reputation of top level athletics. We believe that a truly comprehensive education challenges the whole person. Our student-athletes learn self-respect, self-discipline, and self-esteem. They learn how to win with dignity, handle defeat, and acknowledge their mistakes. But most importantly, they understand themselves better as they strive to live the Xaverian values on and off the field.

We are proud of our students' achievements and the opportunities we provide for them. With $40.15 M in four-year academic scholarships offered to the Class of 2023, an average SAT score among top 25% of students of 1426, and 47% attending US News Top 100 National Universities and Top 50 Liberal Arts Colleges, we know that our students are well-prepared for their futures.
