For over two decades, the Westport Growth Center has been providing a safe, supportive atmosphere to help women, men, and children from throughout the Kansas City area to discover their full potential. Our team of experienced therapists, including Shelley Stelmach-Nigro, Nikol Averbuch, Donna Burgess, Peggy Chilson, Elizabeth Hunter-Blank, Makini King, Julie Kohlhart, Jude Lilienthal, Jakob Nelson, and Anna Stelmach, view counseling as an opportunity to become more aware of yourself and how you relate to others. Each of our therapists employs a variety of techniques in the counseling process based on the presenting concerns. Our goal is to explore issues that encourage you to become more of who you are as individuals.

Our Services

We offer a range of services including Supportive Counseling for Individuals, Couples, Children, Families, and Groups. Our therapists specialize in addressing symptoms such as depression, loneliness, and grief, as well as traumatic experiences. We also provide services for family dynamics, relationship and intimacy issues, and children's concerns including bonding and attachment. Additionally, we offer play therapy for children and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy for those seeking a unique therapeutic approach.
