"Zen Zin" minimalist winemaking style

Established in 1997, Sunset Cellars is a family-owned winery that is dedicated to producing high-quality, hand-crafted wines. Our story began in a garage in San Francisco's Inner Sunset District, where our founders, Doug and Katsuko Sparks, started making wine as a hobby. With their passion for winemaking, they decided to take the leap and make their passion a career. Today, we are proud to be one of the top small wineries in the United States.

Our Winemaking Philosophy

At Sunset Cellars, we believe in the art of winemaking. We are committed to producing wines that are truly reflective of their region and vineyard. We believe that the best wines come from the combination of great grapes, careful winemaking, and attention to detail. Our motto, "Zen Zin, " reflects our minimalist approach to winemaking, where we let the natural flavors of the grapes shine through.

Our Vineyards

We are proud to work with some of the top growers in the industry, including the Teldeschi family in Dry Creek Valley and Wirth Ranch in Solano County's Green Valley. Our vineyards are home to old-vine Zinfandel, with vines over 90 years old. We believe that these ancient vines produce some of the best grapes in the region, and we are committed to preserving these heritage vineyards.

Our Wines

Sunset Cellars offers a range of red wines, including Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Zinfandel. We also make the occasional white wine. Our flagship wine is our Barbera, which has won numerous awards and accolades from top wine competitions.

Our Tasting Room and Winery

Our tasting room and winery are located in the Suisun Valley, where we offer a relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting experience. Visitors can taste our outstanding wines, as well as those from our partner wineries who share our passion for high-quality, hand-crafted wines.

Our Community

At Sunset Cellars, we value our community and are committed to giving back to our local community. We support local charities and participate in wine events and festivals to promote the region's wine industry.
