At Relate Center, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for individuals, couples, and families to work through their challenges and achieve their goals. Our practice is led by Dr. Carey Pulverman, a clinical psychologist with expertise in a wide range of areas, including depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment to chronic illness/injury, insomnia, sexual abuse, trauma, sexual health concerns, and family and relationship difficulties.
Our Approach
Dr. Pulverman's therapeutic style is warm and supportive, and she works collaboratively with clients to determine the areas in which they may desire change to improve their relationships and lives. She practices from an interpersonal framework, which means that she views the relationship between herself and her clients as one of the central parts of healing. Within this framework, she draws upon several therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, motivational interviewing, family systems, and psychoanalytic therapy.

Our services are designed to address a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and sexual health concerns. We affirm and support all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship types, and we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all clients.
About Dr. Pulverman
Dr. Pulverman is a clinical psychologist with a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her doctoral training in the UT Austin Clinical Psychology Program, including research training in the Sexual Psychophysiology Laboratory. She also completed her clinical psychology internship at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, where she worked with veterans suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, spinal cord injuries, and sexual difficulties. Dr. Pulverman's post-doctoral fellowship was at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, where she continued her work with veterans. She also completed post-doctoral training in sex therapy with Dr. Penny Frohlich, Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
