Who We Are

The Port of Hampton Roads ILA Federal Credit Union is a financial institution owned and controlled by its members. We were federally chartered on June 6, 1975, and are governed by the Federal Credit Union Act and its bylaws. We are examined and supervised by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and our shares (deposits) are insured up to $250,000.00 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). Every year, an annual meeting of the credit union is conducted for the members, where they have the opportunity to voice their opinion, ask questions, and elect the officers for the Board of Directors.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer members favorable rates and terms and to provide the best service that will meet all of their needs, while staying within the bounds of our regulators. We seek to maintain a long-term relationship with our members and provide long-term financial stability over the assets of our members. We strive to be a financial institution that is owned and controlled by its members, solely for the financial benefit of its members through their ability to save money in the form of shares (deposits), purchasing of savings certificates (certificates of deposits), and other savings mechanisms and membership ability to borrow money.

Our Services

At Port of Hampton Roads ILA Federal Credit Union, we offer a wide range of services to meet the financial needs of our members. We have four different types of share accounts, including Regular Share Account, Special Share Account, Christmas Club Account, and Share Draft Account (Checking). We also offer Share Savings Certificates (CD's) with flexible terms and competitive rates. Additionally, we provide debit cards, payroll deduction, direct deposit, and mortgage loans through our partnership with CUMA. Our education loan programs, refinancing options, and first-time buyer programs are designed to help our members achieve their financial goals.
