Empowering Children to Speak Their Minds: One Word at a Time.

The Madison Center is a non-profit pediatric therapy center that was established in 2004 with the primary goal of providing speech and occupational therapy services to children with unique needs. Our journey began when our child, Madison, was diagnosed with severe childhood Apraxia of Speech at the age of two. This experience led us to understand the importance of providing the best possible treatment for children with speech and occupational disorders.

Our team is dedicated to addressing your child's unique needs through our holistic approach, focusing on how communication affects family dynamics, social peer interactions, and academic performance. We tailor our treatment plans to each individual, identifying strengths and working together to optimize progress. Most importantly, our treatments are child-centered, functional, and fun.

Speech Therapy Services

At The Madison Center, we offer quality pediatric evaluation and treatment to children with a variety of speech-language disorders. These disorders include articulation, phonological, verbal apraxia, receptive and expressive language delay, stuttering, social cognition, and high-level processing. We use developmentally appropriate toys, strategies, materials, and equipment to facilitate natural speech and language. We also encourage peer interactions to enhance age-appropriate language and social skills.

We treat disorders such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), articulation/phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language, stuttering, and speech fluency. Our approach to treating CAS focuses on movement patterns and requires the client to imitate utterances modeled by the clinician, with attention focused on both the auditory model and visual attention to the clinician's face. We utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches and programs, including minimal pairs, cycles, and multiple oppositions, among others, depending on the client's individual needs and goals.

Occupational Therapy Services

Our occupational therapy services are designed to help children develop the skills they need for daily living and to reach their full potential. We work with children who have difficulty with fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care activities. Our occupational therapists use play-based activities and evidence-based practices to help children develop the skills they need to succeed in school, at home, and in their community.

Social Cognition Services

At The Madison Center, we understand the importance of social cognition in a child's development. Social cognition refers to the processes by which children perceive, interpret, and remember information about others. We offer services designed to help children develop their social cognition skills, including understanding social cues, developing empathy, and improving social interactions.
