Welcome to First Presbyterian Nursery School, a place where the love of learning begins! Our school, located at 178 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan, CT, has been a staple in the community for many years. We are a play-based program that focuses on cognition, social/emotional growth, and physical development. Our experienced teachers weave fun experimentation, exploration, and small group activities into our curriculum, ensuring that children thrive in a nurturing and supportive environment.

At First Presbyterian Nursery School, we believe that a child's early years are critical for their development. That's why we have designed a comprehensive curriculum that includes language and literacy, creative arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Our program ensures that our students are well-prepared for Kindergarten and beyond. We are proud to offer daily music, weekly science classes, and field trips to the New Canaan Nature Center, which is right next door to our school.

Our school is open to three-, four- and five-year-olds, regardless of church affiliation. Siblings are automatically offered a space in age-appropriate classes. Members of the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan are given preference in admissions placement. We require a $500 registration fee when a child is accepted, which will be credited to the annual tuition but is non-refundable should the child withdraw. Tuition bills are mailed out twice a year, in August and January. Enrollment is for the entire school year, and fees will not be prorated for absences or days lost due to inclement weather.

Programs

We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of our students and families. Our Three's Program is designed to help children develop social and emotional skills, language and literacy, and fine and gross motor skills. Our Jumpstart for 4s program is a transition program that helps children prepare for our Four's Program. Our Four's Program focuses on kindergarten readiness and builds on the skills children learned in the Three's and Jumpstart programs. Our Pre-Kindergarten Triple Play program is a full-day program that offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes language and literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, creative arts, and physical education.

In addition to our regular programs, we offer a Lunch Bunch program that meets every weekday from 12:00 -1:55 pm. This program is a great way for children to socialize, have lunch, and participate in fun activities. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can relax and enjoy their lunch break.
