Protecting your financial future, one policy at a time.
Welcome to our practice! As a licensed clinical psychologist, I, Sejal Patel, PsyD, ABPP, CGP, am dedicated to providing integrative and collaborative couples, individual, and group psychotherapy. As a specialist in the treatment of couples and relationship issues, my approach is grounded in attachment theory and emotionally focused interventions. I believe that relationships are the fabric of our lives, and it's through these connections that we can find healing and growth.
Our Services
At our practice, we offer a range of services designed to support individuals, couples, and groups in addressing their emotional and mental health needs. Our services include:
- Couples Therapy: We work with diverse couples at different stages of their relationship, including LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and religious couples. We also specialize in working with interracial and intercultural couples who want to explore sociocultural differences that may inform the core issues bringing them to therapy.
- Individual Psychotherapy: We work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, family and relationship tensions, trauma responses, and adjustment issues. We also provide a safe space for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC and first- and second-generation South Asians, to process their experiences tied to holding multiple identities.
- Group Therapy: We offer specialty training in group psychotherapy, including CBT and DBT skills groups, support groups for survivors of sexual assault and interpersonal violence, and groups for BIPOC students. We are planning to start virtual groups in 2024 for mothers struggling with affect regulation and parenting difficulties, as well as a group for South Asian women.
Fees and Insurance
As an out-of-network provider, we may submit claims to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please contact your provider to confirm coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consulting and Clinical Training
As a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant with VISIONS, Inc., I work with organizations to create cohesive work environments that attend to experiences of oppression, privilege, and strengths tied to sociocultural identity. I also provide clinical training and present on topics such as interracial and intercultural couples, DEI, and mental health.
Personal Reflections
As someone who has been in a long-term relationship and is a parent myself, I understand the challenges and demands of relationships. I believe that self-compassion and curiosity are essential in communicating effectively with our partners and children, even when our emotions are running high. My hope is that my clients can learn to reflect on their reactive moments, with self-compassion and curiosity, and continue to grow and learn from them.
About Me
I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for over a decade, with a specialization in the treatment of couples and relationship issues. I hold a master's and doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver, where the bulk of my training focused on the treatment of couples. I have also received extensive training in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, cultural contextual, and humanistic models of therapy. I am a board-certified clinical psychologist through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and a certified group psychotherapist through the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS).
