At Dr. Nancie Spector's practice, we understand the challenges that come with raising children and addressing their unique needs. As a licensed child clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience, Dr. Spector has dedicated her career to helping parents help their children overcome various emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
Our Services
Dr. Spector offers a range of services designed to support children, adolescents, and their parents. Her treatment specialties include ADHD, adoption, anxiety, Asperger's syndrome, autism, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, coping skills, mood disorders, parenting, peer relationships, school issues, stress, depression, developmental disorders, divorce, family conflict, grief, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, life transitions, and more.
Using evidence-based treatment approaches, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), parent skills training, play therapy, family therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, Dr. Spector creates personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs. Her goal is to empower parents with the skills and strategies necessary to support their children's emotional and psychological well-being.
Our Approach
Dr. Spector's approach is centered on creating a welcoming and comforting environment for her patients. She achieves this by incorporating her certified facility dog, Robert, into her therapy sessions. Robert has been trained by Canine Companions for Independence and provides emotional support and comfort to both children and adults during testing and therapy sessions.
Telehealth Services
In response to the current health crisis, Dr. Spector has shifted her services to virtual sessions via telephone or HIPAA-compliant video conferencing. She is licensed to practice in Connecticut, New York, and Florida, and is certified to provide telehealth services in all Psypact states.
