Our History

Our journey began in the 1920s when Master Cobbler Joseph Montedoro started his apprenticeship at the tender age of eight. He went on to establish the first family business, White Cat Shoe Repair in Allenhurst, New Jersey. After a brief hiatus, Joe returned to his passion and partnered with Vito Marra at the current Shrewsbury location. The "shoe repair gene" runs strong in the Montedoro family, with Joe's wife Ginny, children Renata, Carla, Chris, and Michelle all playing a role in the family business at some point. Even Joe's grandchildren have joined the ranks, with Carla's son Justin now our full-time cobbler.
