Our Story

Velocity Lock and Key is a family-owned and operated mobile locksmith service serving the 80 corridor from Crockett to San Leandro. Founded by Eddie and Julie Pledger, our business is built on a foundation of experience, expertise, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

Julie developed her passion for locksmithing early in her career. Determined to break into a traditionally male-dominated field, she enrolled in a local locksmithing school and received dedicated mentorship from some of the Bay Area's most skilled locksmiths. She immersed herself in the diverse world of locks, gaining comprehensive knowledge in all its facets. Eddie, on the other hand, learned the trade the traditional way - through hands-on experience. He honed his natural mechanical abilities while working at one of the East Bay's oldest full-service lock shops, exposing himself to a wide variety of locksmithing challenges and techniques.

Their paths crossed on the job, and their shared passion for locksmithing quickly blossomed into a partnership. Recognizing their complementary skills and shared vision, they joined forces, married, and ultimately decided to embark on the exciting journey of establishing their own business.
