Piney Point Golf Club, located near the picturesque Lake Tillery in Norwood, North Carolina, offers a traditional golfing experience like no other. Set amidst the rolling hills of Stanly County, the course is a testament to the natural beauty of North Carolina. As a semi-private, 18-hole par-72 golf course, Piney Point Golf Club provides golf enthusiasts with the best of everything. The course is designed to offer a challenging yet enjoyable experience, with Champion Bermuda Greens and minimal forced carries.

Our Greens

In 1998, the greens at Piney Point Golf Club were rebuilt and redesigned with Crenshaw bentgrass. In the summer of 2016, the course underwent another significant upgrade with the installation of Champion Bermuda greens. This hybrid bermuda grass is easier to maintain during the hot and humid months of summer and provides an excellent putting surface year-round. Unlike many courses, Piney Point features rational greens with few forced carries, making it an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.

Challenging and Playable

Piney Point Golf Club is both challenging and playable. It is pretty open off the tee, but don't let that fool you. Stay sharp, as danger lurks in the trees that frame the course. The course is designed to provide golfers with a unique experience. The occasional or "weekend" golfer will enjoy the playability of the course, with a forgiveness factor that ensures you won't spend a fortune on lost balls. Eagles often fly here, especially on our par 5's, providing an opportunity for birdies.

The advanced golfer will appreciate the challenges and interesting quirks thrown in by the course designer. The 9th hole is considered our signature hole, with excitement and planning required for each shot. Four par 5's are reachable in two shots, providing an opportunity for birdies or even eagles. Four par 3's require strategy and skill, with the 11th hole playing over water to a well-protected green. The 16th hole, a 435-yard par 4, plays uphill, making it a challenging finishing hole.
