Quality Never Goes Out of Style
At Arlington Aikido, we are dedicated to teaching the traditional martial art of Aikido, a dynamic, non-violent, and powerful self-defense system that originated in Japan. Our program is based on the principles of harmony, balance, and circular movement, and we welcome students of all ages and skill levels to join us on this journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in the teachings of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, who believed that the ultimate goal of martial arts training is not to defeat others, but to perfect oneself. We believe that Aikido is not just a physical activity, but a way of life, and that it can bring people together, fostering a sense of community and mutual respect.
Our Services
We offer a range of services, including:
- Traditional Aikido classes for adults and children
- Weapons training (Bokken and Jo)
- Sparring and self-defense techniques
- Conditioning and flexibility exercises
- Meditation and relaxation techniques
- Personalized instruction and mentoring
Our Instructor
Our instructor, Sensei Sassan Badrzadeh, is a 3rd-degree black belt from Shinkikan Aikido in Houston, TX, and has trained under the guidance of Erik S. Calderon Sensei, a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba. Sensei Sassan has also trained in other martial arts, including Tang Soo Do and Ninjutsu, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his teaching.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and non-competitive environment where students can learn and grow together, free from the distractions of commercialism and ego-driven motivations. We believe that Aikido is a journey, not a destination, and that it requires commitment, discipline, and patience to master.
