Shepherd Christian Preschool opened its doors in 2010, born from a deep calling to nurture and educate young minds. Witnessing children grow and learn fills us with immense joy, and our team is deeply dedicated to providing a loving and supportive environment where families thrive. Our founder, armed with a degree in educational science, infuses every aspect of our program with a commitment to excellence. Located in Atascadero, California, on a beautiful two-acre historical property dating back to 1917, our converted horseless carriage schoolhouse provides a unique and enchanting setting for young learners.

Our Program

At Shepherd Christian Preschool, we believe in fostering a holistic educational experience that nurtures both the mind and spirit. Our age-appropriate curriculum is designed to prepare children for kindergarten success while instilling Christian values and a deep appreciation for God's creation.

We strive to create a rich and diverse learning environment through engaging activities in art, science, math, reading, literature, music, outdoor exploration, and more. Our program emphasizes social interaction, independent play, and creativity, allowing children to flourish in a stimulating and supportive atmosphere.

Our beautiful outdoor space is an extension of the classroom, where children can explore nature, cultivate their own garden, and interact with our friendly farm animals. Caring for chickens and harvesting fresh eggs teaches valuable lessons about responsibility, nature, and the journey of food from farm to table. In our barn and farm area, children participate in hands-on activities, learning about animal care, fostering a sense of compassion, and building important life skills.

Individualized Care

We recognize that each child is unique and possesses their own strengths and talents. Our dedicated team of four teachers actively nurtures the individual needs of each of the twenty children in our care. We provide customized support for those who may need extra help, while also encouraging and challenging advanced learners. Our low student-to-teacher ratio ensures that every child receives the personalized attention they deserve, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
