Our Story

Our co-owner, Laurent Janowsky, grew up in the Alsace region of France where he developed a love for French cuisine and a deep appreciation for farm-fresh dairy and vegetables. After moving to the United States, Laurent continued to pursue his passion for French cuisine and eventually co-owned the renowned French restaurant, La Bergerie, in Alexandria.

Laurent's dream was to create a casual neighborhood eatery where folks could enjoy fresh, simply prepared yet delicious French country fare. This dream became a reality with the opening of Del Ray Cafe. Our menu reflects Laurent's love for French cuisine and his commitment to using the freshest ingredients available.
