Empowering Young Artists to Shine

Insight Meditation Center (IMC) is a spiritual community dedicated to the practice of mindfulness and meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals seeking to cultivate wisdom, compassion, and inner peace through the insights and teachings of the Buddha. Through a variety of programs, events, and resources, we strive to make the teachings of the Buddha accessible and relevant to the modern world.

Our Services

At IMC, we offer a wide range of services designed to support and nurture the spiritual growth of our community members. These services include ongoing online programs such as our weekly sits and talks, special and yearlong programs like our Daylong Meditation Retreats and Dharma en Espanol, and video recorded programs including our Intro to Meditation Classes and 7am Guided Sit & Talk. We also offer a variety of resources such as our AudioDharma en Espanol, Sati Center for Buddhist Studies, and Yoga LGBTQIA+ Sangha, as well as volunteer opportunities, generosity initiatives, and our Practice of Generosity.

Our ongoing online programs provide a consistent and convenient way for community members to connect and practice together. These programs include our Monday Night Sit & Talk, Wednesday Sit & Dharmette, Happy Hour Sit & Talk, and Dharma Circle for People of Asian Background. Each program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to explore the teachings of the Buddha through meditation, discussion, and community engagement.

Our special and yearlong programs offer deeper immersion into the practice of mindfulness and meditation. These programs include our Daylong Meditation Retreats, Non-Residential Retreats, and Residential Retreats, as well as our Dharma for People in their 20s & 30s and Dharma en Espanol Eventos Especiales. These programs provide a more intensive and focused experience for individuals seeking to deepen their practice and understanding of the Buddha's teachings.

Our video recorded programs offer a valuable resource for individuals seeking to learn more about the practice of mindfulness and meditation. These programs include our Intro to Meditation Classes, 7am Guided Sit & Talk, and Dharma Talks & Dharmettes, as well as our reflections, sutta translations, and transcribed talks. These resources provide a valuable learning tool for individuals seeking to explore the teachings of the Buddha at their own pace and in their own time.

In addition to our programs and resources, we also offer a vibrant and supportive community for individuals seeking connection and engagement. Our Community section includes information on the Role of Community, Informal Gatherings, and Affinity Groups such as our Black-Identified Mindfulness Circle, Women's Circle of Mindfulness, and Dharma for People in their 20s & 30s. We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals seeking to connect and practice together.
