Providing Compassionate Counsel and Aggressive Representation

Gainesville's Only Non-Profit Music & Dance School

---------------

Studio Percussion and Dance Center is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Gainesville, FL community since 2002. We are a 501c3 IRS registered charity, and all donations made to our organization are tax deductible. Our mission is to provide quality Fine Arts instruction to students of all ages, with a particular focus on making music education accessible to everyone.

Our Story

---------

Studio Percussion was founded in June 2002 by Tobin Wagstaff, who began teaching private drum and percussion lessons out of his home. In the spring of 2003, the studio created its first group class of about 10-12 students. As student population grew, the need for a commercial location became evident. In June 2004, Studio Percussion moved into its first commercial location on University Avenue. At this time, developments were underway to incorporate the studio as a non-profit organization, and a board of directors was formed.

In 2004, three hurricanes impacted the state of Florida, including the Gainesville area. Roof leaks damaged studio equipment and created health concerns for all members. It became necessary to move into our current location, which provided us with the space we needed to expand into other instruments such as guitar, bass, piano, and voice. On November 1, 2004, Studio Percussion, Inc. officially incorporated and became a non-profit organization.
