Lois Ellyn Ballet School

Lois Ellyn Studio, home of Nouveau Chamber Ballet, has been a beacon of artistic excellence in Orange County since 1956. Founded by Lois Ellyn, the studio has dual missions: to provide high-quality dance instruction and to offer professional performance opportunities. Our school offers classes from pre-ballet to advanced levels, focusing on technical strength and artistic expression.

The Company

Nouveau Chamber Ballet, established in 1988, is a non-profit organization dedicated to cultural enrichment. It provides pre-professional and professional dancers with performance and educational opportunities. The company's repertoire includes traditional ballets, contemporary works, and original pieces. Regular collaborations with other artistic groups, such as orchestras and ensembles, further enhance the cultural landscape.

The Creative Force

Lois Ellyn, a renowned ballerina, choreographer, and teacher, was instrumental in shaping the studio's vision. She studied and performed with prominent figures in the world of ballet, including Madame Nijinska and Maestro Celli. Nouveau Chamber Ballet partners with Orange County to bring artistic experiences to the community. Our programs include cultural education for school children and the "Sponsor a School" initiative, which provides young children with the opportunity to attend The Nutcracker performance each December. Our adjunct ballet school offers a comprehensive range of classes for students of all ages, ensuring the next generation of dancers is nurtured and inspired.
