Dorothy Ho, a passionate dancer, choreographer, and teacher, founded Charade Dance Academy in 2019. Her vision to share the art of dance with her community motivated her to start Charade alongside other skilled and experienced choreographers and teachers in Garden Grove. At Charade, you can expect a positive and expressive environment that all dancers crave. We offer a variety of instructional and competitive courses including Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Acro, Lyrical, and K-Pop. Whether you aspire to learn fundamental techniques of dance, looking for a way to diversify your workout routine, or simply want to gain experience in dancing, Charade is the perfect place for you.
Our Staff
Dorothy Ho, the founder and instructor, is a graduate of Orange County School of the Arts. She has over 15 years of training in Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Jazz and has taught for over 6 years. Her passion and drive for dance earned her a full scholarship at University of California Irvine's Summer Academies in the Arts in 2014. She has choreographed extensively for television, music videos, festivals, fundraisers, schools, and competitions. Her awards include 1st place at World of Dance Las Vegas in 2014, 1st place at Nor-Cal Collaboration in 2015, and more. She is currently attending Chapman University earning her BA in Philosophy and leading Charade Dance Academy's dance faculty.
Class Highlights
Our Pre Hip-Hop I class is a great starting point for beginners, focusing on fundamental techniques and coordination. For more advanced students, our Jazz I class offers a challenging yet fun experience, preparing dancers for our Jazz Competition Team. The Hip Hop III class is designed for those who have progressed from the pre-level hip-hop classes, challenging them with more difficult choreographies. We also offer a K-Pop class, which is a fun and refreshing way to learn new routines and songs currently popular within the K-Pop community.
