Cha Piano Studio

As a dedicated piano instructor with over two decades of experience, I founded Cha Piano Studio to share my passion for music and education. Born in Korea and trained in Germany, I bring a global perspective to my teaching, having studied under renowned professors at prestigious institutions like the Academy of Music in Darmstadt and the University of Music Mainz. My expertise spans solo piano performance, vocal and instrumental accompaniment, and music theory, which I teach in English, Korean, and German. Since 2001, I have nurtured students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners preparing for college. My approach combines personalized instruction with a focus on practical and theoretical mastery, ensuring each student develops both technical proficiency and artistic expression. As an accompanist, I have collaborated with opera productions and music schools in Germany and the U.S., enriching my teaching with real-world performance experience.

My studio in Fairfax, Virginia, serves Northern Virginia families, offering tailored lessons that adapt to individual learning goals. I prioritize student growth, celebrating achievements like participation in festivals and competitions, including numerous Goldcup awards with my students. My commitment to excellence is reflected in memberships with professional organizations such as MTNA and NVMTA. Whether you seek foundational skills or advanced training, my studio provides a supportive environment to help you achieve your musical aspirations.
