Our Specialties
The Independent Martial Arts School offers a variety of specialized programs tailored to meet the needs of our students:
- *Tomoe Gozen*: A monthly class designed for our female students of all ages and ranks, inspired by the powerful warrior in Japanese lore.
- *Weapons*: A monthly class for intermediate and advanced students to practice practical and artistic weapons, such as bo, nunchaku, fan, sai, tonfa, escrima, and cane.
- *Grappling*: A future monthly class focusing on ground self-defense, teaching students how to utilize their individual strengths to their advantage.

Our school focuses on Kenpo, a unique style with roots in China, Japan, and Hawaii. The Kenpo material we teach is similar to the original curriculum developed in the mid-20th century, emphasizing punches, kicks, locks, and takedowns. Our adaptive teaching methods ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Our Instructors and School Hours
Our certified instructors are dedicated to providing safe, disciplined classes for students aged 6 and above. We offer the following class schedule:
- Tuesdays: 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 7:30-11:30 a.m.

At the Independent Martial Arts School, we believe that martial artists have a responsibility to strengthen and build up their communities. Our school has a long-standing history of supporting local events in Southern New Hampshire, such as the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Wags for Whiskers event for the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.
