At School's Out Sport Fishing, our team is dedicated to providing an exceptional fishing experience on Lake Michigan. With years of combined experience and a passion for fishing, our captains, Captain Shane Jach and Captain Sarah Sandahl, have honed their skills to ensure that your day on the water is nothing short of unforgettable.

Our Story

School's Out Sport Fishing was founded in 2018 by Captain Shane Jach, a United States Coast Guard-licensed captain since 2013. With his passion for fishing and the Great Lakes, Captain Shane has been competing in regional salmon fishing tournaments and has years of experience fishing Lake Michigan. Captain Sarah Sandahl, also a United States Coast Guard-licensed captain, joined the team in 2018 and brings her expertise in fishing and teaching to the charter. Together, they aim to create a fishing experience that exceeds expectations.

Our Fleet

Our fleet consists of two top-of-the-line vessels: the Summer School, a 34ft Pursuit, and the School's Out, a 35ft Luhrs Alura. Both vessels are equipped with state-of-the-art fishing gear to ensure that you have the best chance of catching the big ones.

Fishing Charters

At School's Out Sport Fishing, we offer various fishing charter options to cater to your needs. Whether you're a small group of friends or a larger group of anglers, we can accommodate your party. Our daily rates range from 5 to 8 hours, and we have packages for both small groups and larger groups. We can also provide additional services such as fish cleaning and bagging, as well as individual fish packaging.

Our Charter Trip Rates & Options

We offer several different options for booking your Lake Michigan adventure. Our daily rates are listed below:

One-Day Charters

• 5 Hour Charter: $700 for 1-6 people
• 6 Hour Charter: $800 for 1-6 people
• 8 Hour Charter: $1,000 for 1-6 people

Packages

We also offer three fishing trip packages that include lodging, fishing licenses, and other amenities. Our packages are designed to provide you with the ultimate fishing experience:

• Angler's Package #1: Includes two 5-hour fishing trips, one night lodging, fishing licenses, fish cleaning and bagging, and coffee and donuts. Prices start at $745 per person.
• Angler's Package #2: Includes two 6-hour fishing trips, two nights lodging, fishing licenses, fish cleaning and bagging, coffee and donuts, and a mid-day snack of your fresh catch. Prices start at $925 per person.
• Angler's Package #3: Includes two 8-hour fishing trips, two nights lodging, fishing licenses, fish cleaning and packaging, coffee and donuts, and a mid-day snack of your fresh catch. Prices start at $1,120 per person.
