Your Partner in Mental Health Advocacy and Parity Reform
Founded in 2013, The Kennedy Forum Illinois is dedicated to revolutionizing mental health and addiction treatment through systemic reform. Our mission focuses on ending stigma and discrimination while advocating for equitable access to care. We leverage policy advocacy, community engagement, and evidence-based training programs to drive lasting change. With a network of over 3,000 stakeholders, we have impacted more than 2 million Illinois residents through initiatives like the nation's strongest state parity law and community-wide stigma reduction efforts.

Our work includes hosting annual convenings, training thousands in mental health awareness, and developing coalitions to ensure implementation of parity laws. We prioritize telehealth expansion, workplace wellness, and public education to create a future where mental health is treated with the same urgency as physical health.

These programs have trained over 3,500 individuals in accessing community resources and supporting those with mental health challenges.
Parity Law Advocacy
We lead efforts to implement and enforce federal and state mental health parity laws. Our advocacy focuses on ensuring equal insurance coverage for mental health treatment and challenging discriminatory practices. Through coalition-building and legislative engagement, we've helped pass Illinois' landmark state parity law and continue pushing for full compliance across providers.
Telehealth Services
We advocate for permanent telehealth policy improvements that expand mental health access. Our initiatives promote continued use of remote treatment options post-pandemic, focusing on equitable implementation and reimbursement practices. We work with providers and insurers to ensure telehealth remains a viable solution for underserved populations and rural communities.
Workplace Wellness
Our workplace wellness programs train over 5,000 professionals annually in stress management and mental health support. We help organizations create mentally healthy cultures that improve productivity and employee retention. Our human-centered approach addresses isolation, anxiety, and work-life balance through customized training and resource implementation.
Community Engagement
Through initiatives like On the Table, we facilitate community conversations that connect over 10,000 participants annually. Our public forums and stakeholder convenings create platforms for diverse voices to shape mental health policy.
