Let's Move Forward Together
At Breda Doak, LCPC Psychotherapy, we are dedicated to guiding you on your life journey towards contentment and peace of mind. As a experienced therapist, I have witnessed remarkable growth and personal change in many individuals, empowering them to attain greater acceptance and compassion for themselves and others. I approach the process of psychotherapy from a psychodynamic model and a mindfulness approach, promoting peace, self-understanding, and appreciation for one's uniqueness and strengths.
My Work as a Therapist
With over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I have had the privilege of witnessing tremendous accomplishments and personal growth in numerous people. Often starting with self-doubt and uncertainty, individuals discover their capacity for happiness and inner harmony. I employ a psychodynamic model, which effectively addresses human concerns, difficulties, and desires while fostering a fulfilling and harmonious life. Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness into my work, enhancing self-awareness and promoting a balanced perspective when facing current difficulties.
My practice aims to help both individuals and couples achieve satisfying relationships and contentment. I strive to enhance each person's ability to live a full life with genuine appreciation for their individuality and relationships. I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, and have completed extensive psychodynamic training and coursework at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. My private practice followed my time at a community mental health agency, where I gained valuable training, supervision, and learning opportunities.
Services Offered
I specialize in intensive psychotherapy with a mindfulness approach. Individuals often seek help during a crisis or a period of acute stress, and I address these issues while uncovering underlying problems. I serve various populations, including individuals (pre-teens, teens, and adults), couples (married, divorced, pre-marriage, and LGBTQIA), and families.
In addition to individual and couples therapy, I provide consultation to parents, employers, supervisors, managers, and other mental health professionals. This includes parenting guidance, communication skills and intervention skills training at the workplace, supervisory consultation for LCPCs and LPCs, and consultation with schools on bullying issues.
My fees follow a sliding scale, accommodating various financial situations. For those using insurance, I can assist with claims submission. I am in-network with BCBS and Aetna, and other insurance companies may offer out-of-network benefits. For more information about the No Surprises Act, which takes effect on January 1, 2022, please click on the provided link to understand your rights and protections regarding billing when out-of-network or self-paying out-of-pocket.
