Momma Maria's Mediterranean Bistro & Bar is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Trappe, Maryland. Our mission is to bring the authentic flavors of the Mediterranean to our community, served with a side of warm hospitality and exceptional service.

Our Story

Our story begins with Thomas and Maria Mitchell, the founders of Momma Maria's. Thomas, a savvy entrepreneur, and Maria, a talented cook with Greek heritage, shared a passion for good food and warm hospitality. Maria's love for cooking and her Greek roots inspired the concept of Momma Maria's, which has become a labor of love for the entire family. Unfortunately, Maria passed away in the spring of 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her legacy lives on through the restaurant, where her spirit and inspiration continue to guide us.

Our Cuisine

At Momma Maria's, we take pride in serving a fusion of Italian, Greek, and American cuisine, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our menu features an array of dishes, from classic Mediterranean staples like Pastitsio and spanakopita, to artisanal pizzas and mouth-watering American classics. Our Chef de Cuisine, Ace Evans, combines traditional flavors with local seasonal ingredients to create a menu that is both exquisite and delicious. Whether you're in the mood for a casual dinner or a special occasion, we have something for everyone.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to make your dining experience unforgettable. From catering and private events to early bird specials and daily chef creations, we strive to exceed your expectations. Our private banquet room, "The Maple Room, " is perfect for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. We also offer local Blue Heron Coffee, Olivin's Olive Oil from St. Michaels, MD, and desserts made on-site by our pastry chef.
