Wear the beauty of the journey.

Growing up surrounded by a world of handmade objects from my parents' travels instilled in me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the stories each piece tells. Earthenware with its crisp geometric patterns from Panama, intricate paisley shawls from Peshawar with their flowing elegance, and the warm, inviting wood furniture crafted by my mother, a tribute to her South Asian heritage, all filled my childhood home. These objects weren't just decorative; they were tactile lessons in design, texture, and the timeless beauty of handwork. I absorbed these visual languages, tracing the artist's touch with my eyes and my hands, understanding that each piece held within it the heart and intention of its creator.

Many years later, the vibrant memories of that childhood home came rushing back when I became a mother myself. Sitting in my grandmother's old mahogany chair, my son nestled in my arms, I watched as his tiny gaze traced the intricate mirror work of a tapestry, mesmerized by the reflections dancing on the ceiling. Witnessing this sense of discovery and wonder through his eyes ignited a spark within me. It was as if the past and the present were bridging, a testament to the resilience and reinvention inherent in immigrant experiences. This inspired me to create art that not only harmonizes heritage and modernity, but also celebrates the beauty in all people and places.

My creative journey begins in my sketchbook, where ideas take shape and evolve. I meticulously develop several drafts of each design, searching for that perfect balance of line and form, angle and curve, until they resonate with a sense of completeness. Once the design is finalized, I employ a blend of traditional fabrication techniques and modern advancements in cutting, casting, and printing to bring my vision to life in metal. Precious and semi-precious gemstones are carefully chosen as accents, adding an element of color and luminescence that elevates each piece.

Collections

My collections are inspired by ancient symbols and pictographs, becoming wearable glyphs that represent the human experience. The Pathway and Eye of Horus Collections embody this philosophy, featuring gender-neutral pieces crafted from a mix of metals. These accessories are bold and graphic, adorned with rhythmic patterns and shapes that serve as reminders of the strength, resilience, and boundless creativity required for life's journey.

Staying Connected

I am deeply grateful to be a part of the vibrant metalsmithing community in Atlanta and beyond. I am honored to assist talented fine jewelry designer Lainey Papageorge of Elaina Designs. For fifteen years, I have had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and passion for metalsmithing by teaching at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. I am a proud member of the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia, the American Craft Council, and the Society of North American Goldsmiths. In 2021, I received the Emerging Entrepreneur Award from New York City Jewelry Week (NYCJW), an incredible recognition that fuels my continued journey as an artist.
