Transforming Outdoor Spaces, Enhancing Lives

At The Bicycle Tree, we are a nonprofit community bike center and shop dedicated to making Orange County a better place to be a bicyclist. Our mission is to empower individuals to take control of their own bike maintenance and repair, promoting a culture of community and sustainability.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to support our mission. Our volunteer mechanics are on site to help you with as much or as little assistance as you need to fix up your bike. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, our team is happy to guide you through every type of bike repair, from simple maintenance to complex overhauls. We also offer a complete set of bike tools for those who prefer to fix their own bikes. In addition to on-site repair, we offer periodic classes and workshops through our Wrench and Ride program, teaching bike safety, maintenance, and repair skills.

History and Mission

The Bicycle Tree was founded in 2006 with mobile bike repair workshops throughout Orange County. In 2014, we opened our shop in Santa Ana, expanding our services to include a retail space and a permanent location for community events and classes. Our Wrench and Ride program, launched in 2007, has empowered hundreds of individuals with knowledge, skills, and access to bikes. We believe that by empowering individuals with the skills and confidence to maintain and repair their own bikes, we can create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation system.

Volunteer Opportunities

We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to help us achieve our mission. Whether you have experience with bike repair or are just starting out, we need your help to make Orange County a better place to be a bicyclist. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with shop operations, leading classes and workshops, and participating in local bike advocacy efforts.

Donate

We accept donations of bikes, bike parts, tools, and accessories to support our programs. Monetary donations are also welcome, and can be made through our website. Your support helps us sustain our services and expand our reach throughout Orange County.

What We Do

The Bicycle Tree is a place where individuals can come to learn, repair, and customize their own bikes. Our friendly and knowledgeable volunteer mechanics are on site to guide you through every step of the process. Developing bike repair and maintenance skills will not only make your bike safer and save you money, it'll help you become a more empowered and confident cyclist.

Wrench and Ride

Our Wrench and Ride program is a comprehensive bike education and donation program that teaches individuals about bike safety, maintenance, and repair. Participants in the program learn about bike functions, maintenance, and repair, and upon graduation, each participant receives a bike, a helmet, a lock, and lights. The program is designed to empower individuals and promote a culture of sustainability and community.
