Gold Country Soccer has been dedicated to fostering youth soccer development in Grass Valley since its establishment. Our organization offers structured recreational and competitive programs for players aged U5 to U18, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. With a focus on community engagement, we provide coaching clinics, field resources, and flexible scheduling options to accommodate families and volunteers. Our recreational league features age-specific teams, weekly practices, and organized game days across three local venues. Competitive players benefit from tryout-based teams and professional coaching guidance.

We prioritize safety and accessibility through clear field status protocols, weather policies, and equipment support for new coaches. Our volunteer-driven model encourages parental involvement through coaching opportunities and board participation, ensuring the sustainability of our programs. By maintaining partnerships with local schools and facilities, we create accessible soccer experiences that adapt to environmental conditions like air quality and weather changes. Services
Recreational Soccer
Our recreational soccer program serves players aged U5 to U18 with weekly practices and organized game days. Teams are organized by single birth years for U5-U10 divisions, with coed teams for U5/U6 and gender-separated teams for older age groups. The fall season typically runs from late August through November with eight scheduled game days.
Competitive Teams
Competitive programs offer tryout-based teams for serious players seeking advanced development. Our Director of Coaching oversees team formation and provides professional guidance through training clinics and player development pathways. Families receive team placement decisions within one week of tryouts with opportunities for year-round skill development.
Coaching Clinics
We provide free coaching clinics for volunteer coaches before each season begins. These sessions cover fundamental coaching techniques, practice drills, and game strategies while supplying starter equipment including cones and pinnies for new coaches. The program emphasizes safe, effective youth soccer instruction.
Field Maintenance
Three dedicated field locations support our programs with clear setup/breakdown protocols and safety guidelines. Mautino Park hosts U6/U8 games, Scotten School accommodates U10 teams, and Sierra College serves U12-U18 divisions. Field status updates are provided by 2pm weekdays through official channels and environmental monitoring.
Season Scheduling
Our structured calendar includes fall recreational seasons with Saturday game days, summer coach training clinics, and competitive tryout periods. Registration deadlines and fee structures provide early bird incentives while maintaining flexibility for schedule changes due to weather or air quality conditions.
