Our History

Weisinger Family Winery has a rich history that spans over four decades. Our journey began in 1978 when our founder, John Weisinger, a Texan native, purchased a small farm in Ashland, Oregon, with the dream of making wine. With the help of his three young children, Eric, Annie, and Sarah, he planted his first acre of Gewurztraminer and spent ten summers tending to the young vines. In 1988, John broke ground on the winery, and the tasting room opened its doors in the spring of that year. Throughout the years, our family has continued to grow and evolve, with each generation bringing their unique perspectives and expertise to the winemaking process.

• John Weisinger: Founder

John, our founder, is a Texan native who moved to Oregon in the early 1970s to pursue his dream of making wine. With a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the craft, John played a pivotal role in establishing our winery's foundation.
