At Senshin Center, we believe that martial arts training is not just about physical movements, but about cultivating a deeper understanding of oneself and the world. Our approach, known as Budo, is a centuries-old system that aims to bring wellness, spiritual maturity, fear reconciliation, and harmony to one's life. We offer a comprehensive training program that includes traditional and scientifically proven techniques in metabolic health, sleep hygiene, strength conditioning, and fitness, as well as worldview. Our dojo is equipped with a fully functional free-weight gym, and we also offer body conditioning, meditation, weapons training, and community service as part of our training.

About Our Sensei

Our head instructor, David M. Valadez Sensei, has been training in martial arts for nearly forty years. He has done discipleships under four different internationally recognized Master Teachers and holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Doctorate in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Japanese Religious Culture from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is also a sworn officer for a local Law Enforcement agency, holding state instructor certifications in Arrest and Control and Firearms, among others. Valadez Sensei's extensive experience and academic background make him an exceptional mentor and guide for our students.

What is Aikido?

Aikido, which translates to "The Way of Communion with the Forces and Principles of the Universe, " is a Japanese martial art that focuses on harmonizing with one's opponent rather than using force against them. It is a path for self-cultivation that aims to bring strength and conditioning to the entire body, balance and harmony in the face of extreme situations, and coordination between mind, body, and spirit. At Senshin Center, we strive to practice Aikido authentically, consistent with historical precedent and modern needs.
