Our Mission

Our mission at Custom Manufacturing & Engineering is to cultivate lasting partnerships with our clients by consistently exceeding expectations in three key areas: exceptional customer service, unwavering commitment to quality, and reliable on-time delivery. We believe in going above and beyond to understand our clients' unique needs and delivering solutions that precisely meet their specifications.

Our History

Founded in 1981 by Lloyd McKinney, Custom Manufacturing & Engineering began its journey as a small enterprise operating out of a rented facility. Driven by dedication and a passion for innovation, the company quickly outgrew its initial space. In 1988, CME celebrated the grand opening of its purpose-built facility, a testament to its growing success. This expansion was further solidified in 1991 with the addition of a new wing, allowing CME to accommodate its expanding team and capabilities. Throughout its history, Custom Manufacturing & Engineering has remained committed to its founding principles, continuously investing in state-of-the-art equipment and fostering a culture of excellence.

Our Expertise: From Concept to Reality

At Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive suite of services that guide clients through every step of the product development process, from the initial spark of an idea to the final delivery of a finished product. Our expertise encompasses:

  • Design & Engineering: Our dedicated team of experienced engineers possesses a deep understanding of design principles, material science, and manufacturing processes. We collaborate closely with clients to translate their vision into practical and manufacturable designs, ensuring optimal functionality, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prototyping & Tooling: Crafting prototypes is crucial for validating designs and identifying potential issues before mass production. We leverage advanced prototyping techniques and technologies, including 3D printing and rapid tooling, to create accurate representations of the final product.
  • Injection Molding: As specialists in injection molding, we utilize a wide range of presses, ranging from 28 to 550 tons, to produce high-quality plastic parts with shot sizes from 1.5 oz to 80 oz. Our team meticulously controls every aspect of the injection molding process, ensuring precision, consistency, and optimal dimensional accuracy.
  • Secondary Operations: We offer a variety of secondary operations to enhance and customize the finished plastic parts. Our capabilities include finishing, painting, decorating, assembly, and packaging, providing a one-stop shop for all your manufacturing needs.

Flexible Fulfillment Solutions Tailored to Your Needs

Beyond manufacturing, we understand the importance of seamless and efficient fulfillment. To that end, we provide a range of customized warehousing and distribution solutions designed to meet the unique requirements of each client.

  • JIT (Just-In-Time) Warehousing: We are experts in optimizing the JIT warehousing process to ensure timely delivery of products directly to your line. Our dedicated team seamlessly coordinates with your production schedule, managing inventory levels and facilitating daily, weekly, monthly, or on-demand shipments via phone or email.
  • Safety Stock Program: Our Safety Stock Program minimizes the risk of production delays due to stock shortages. Based on agreed-upon pre-determined quantities, we proactively alert you when your reserved inventory nears depletion, allowing you to maintain optimal production lead times.
  • Extended Warehousing: For clients who require extended storage periods, we offer flexible warehousing solutions tailored to their specific needs. This option allows you to reduce production costs through Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) strategies while benefiting from the convenience of placing annual blanket orders.
