Parents' Day Off Preschool, lovingly known as PDO Preschool, is a faith-based, extended day preschool nestled in the heart of South Bend, Indiana. Since its inception in 1981 as an outreach program of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, PDO has been dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching learning experience for children aged 12 months to six years old. PDO Preschool offers a play-based curriculum where social, emotional, and developmental growth are fostered through hands-on exploration and engaging activities.
A Spacious and Stimulating Environment
The preschool resides in the educational wing of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, boasting spacious, well-lit rooms designed to meet the unique needs of young children. The classrooms are thoughtfully furnished and equipped, stimulating curiosity and a love for learning. Beyond the dedicated classrooms, children have access to the spacious fellowship hall and a secure, fenced-in play yard, providing ample space for large motor development and imaginative play.
A Dedicated Team and Community
PDO Preschool is a non-profit organization guided by a dedicated Preschool Committee comprised of the Director, Church Members, the Christian Education Director of the church, and the Pastor. The committee ensures that PDO remains a center committed to providing quality childcare and nurturing a strong sense of community.
Welcoming All
PDO Preschool warmly welcomes families from various backgrounds and faiths. We recognize that many of our families have their own churches and respect their beliefs. However, PDO Preschool also understands the need for a welcoming faith-based environment for families seeking spiritual guidance and community. Whether its attending preschool, church services, or engaging in church activities, PDO extends a compassionate and inclusive atmosphere to all who walk through its doors.
