At SwanLea Equestrian, we are a premier Minnesota-based showing and training program dedicated to developing hunter jumper riders through a customized approach for all levels. Our team, led by Head Trainer Jessica Swanson, is committed to providing a high standard of horse care and fostering strong human relationships, which are at the core of our program's culture of growth, inclusivity, and furthering horsemanship. Located at Indigo Farm in Watertown, MN, just 30 minutes west of Minneapolis, we offer a unique and personalized experience for our clients.

Our Services

We believe in creating an individualized program to meet the needs and goals of both horse and rider. Whether you need assistance with your horse's rideability or want to show at a certain level, our team is ready to work with you to achieve your goals. Our services include showing, training, lessons, and sales & leases. We take part in various shows, both at the local and national levels, year-round, and offer a full training package, along with a range of tailored services to meet your goals. Our lessons are designed for the dedicated hunter jumper of all levels and ages to grow their riding abilities, and our sales & leases program is dedicated to matching you with the perfect horse, considering skills, goals, and budget.

Our Facility

SwanLea Equestrian operates out of Indigo Farm in Watertown, Minnesota. The heated facility is located on 30 acres with 13 paddocks and pastures. Our riders enjoy a year-round training environment with a fully-attached 180' x 80' indoor arena and a heated main barn, tack room, and wash stall. The indoor arena undergoes regular dragging and watering to ensure ideal footing for the full jumping course. Our oversized stalls are lined with rubber mats and generously bedded with shavings, and our extensive pasture management delivers plentiful green grass pastures in the summer. We also offer multiple paddock options to fit every horse's needs.

Meet Jessica Swanson

Jessica Swanson, our Head Trainer, has competed across the country, achieving success in the Baby Green Hunters to the Grand Prix. She views horses and riders as athletes who need to practice their craft in order to gain the most from it. Encouraging feedback and developing trustworthy relationships between herself and her students are capstones to her program. Jessica graduated from William Woods University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Equestrian Studies and has had the privilege to assist International Team members, Karen Cudmore and Todd Minikus.
