At Nan's School of Dance, we are a family-oriented dance studio that has been sharing the love of dance since 1975. Our goal is to bring joy and technical instruction to the surrounding community. We are a family-owned business with three locations, and our North Raleigh location is nestled on Durant Road. We offer a variety of dance classes for all ages and skill levels, from ballet to hip hop, and even Mommy & Me classes for toddlers.
Our Story
Our journey began in 1975 when Nan Holt Smith started teaching dance to 40 students in her hometown of Yadkinville, NC. She and her husband, Chuck Smith, established the first Greensboro studio in 1982. Today, our director, Hillary White, is Nan's youngest daughter, who grew up in the studio where she started her dance training. Hillary and her husband Matt have owned and operated the Raleigh location of Nan's School of Dance since 2012. We are thrilled to be able to share our rich dance history with our students.

Our Competitive Company Team is tailored for those passionate about dance, and we invite skilled dancers to join our artistic and competitive journey. We also host birthday parties at our Raleigh location, designed to be fun for kids and easy for parents.
