Yale Science & Engineering Association

At Yale Science and Engineering Association (YSEA), we are dedicated to connecting alumni with students, the University, and each other to strengthen the Yale science and engineering community. Founded in 1914, we are one of the oldest university alumni organizations in the world with a focus on issues in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote the highest quality of science and engineering at Yale by assisting students financially with research grants, prizes, and scholarships. We recognize and publicize the accomplishments of Yale students, faculty, and distinguished alumni with special awards and prizes. We communicate with our membership in a timely and effective manner, encouraging interaction between Yale and its engineering and science alumni and between Yale and private and public enterprise. We make strategic investments to enable or complement Yale initiatives that advance science and engineering.

Our Services

We offer a range of services to support our members, including research grants, prizes, and scholarships for students, as well as awards and recognition for outstanding achievements in STEM fields. We also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration through our events and meetings, as well as access to resources and expertise through our community of alumni, faculty, and students. Additionally, we produce publications such as the Yale Scientific Magazine and Yale Startups, which showcase the latest research and innovation in STEM fields.

Our Community

Our community is interdisciplinary, comprising alumni, faculty, students, and friends from a wide range of backgrounds, including science, engineering, humanities, and more. We share a common goal of strengthening the Yale science and engineering community and promoting the importance of STEM fields in society. Our members are engaged, passionate, and committed to making a positive impact in their fields and beyond.
