Our journey began in 2007 as a BBQ competition team, and over the years, we've refined our craft, perfecting the art of slow-cooked meats and delicious sides.
Our History
Our story began when Chris Juencke, our founder and pitmaster, decided to take up BBQ as a hobby. With the support of his wife, Bekah, they formed Smokin' Yankees BBQ, incorporating their last name into the team name. In 2008, they entered their first competition, the Mastercut BBQ Championship, and placed 6th out of 48 teams. This was just the beginning of their competitive BBQ journey, which took them to various events across California and Oregon. Their hard work and dedication earned them numerous awards, including the Grand Championship title.
