Where every shot tells a story, and every round is a dream come true.
Our History: The Field of Dreams
The Crumpin-Fox Club was born from a vision - a "field of dreams" conceived in 1969 by David Berleson. Fueled by an aspiration to create a golf course reminiscent of the legendary Pine Valley, Berleson sought the expertise of Roger Rulewich, a prominent figure at Robert Trent Jones, Inc. Rulewich diligently scoured the landscape, ultimately selecting the picturesque grounds in Bernardston, Massachusetts. However, the initial project faced its own set of challenges and didn't materialize until 1977 when Andy St. Hillaire acquired the venture. St. Hillaire, despite his golfing skills which perhaps leaned more towards enjoying the camaraderie than achieving birdies, recognized the exceptional blueprint underpinning the course. He spearheaded the construction of the back nine holes and the current clubhouse, carefully stewarding the vision until 1987 when he entrusted the reins to his esteemed friend, William A. Sandri of Bernardston.
Under Rulewich's continued guidance, the front nine holes were brought to life, meticulously complementing the existing back nine. The entire course underwent significant renovations, encompassing the driving range and the irrigation system. Bent grass fairways were meticulously laid, transforming the landscape into a golfer's paradise. June of 1990 marked a momentous occasion as Crumpin-Fox Club officially opened its doors, ready to welcome enthusiasts seeking a challenging and rewarding golfing experience.
Crumpin-Fox: A Legacy Embraced
The name "Crumpin-Fox" pays homage to the town's rich history, resonating with a bygone era of local industry. Originating as the Bernardston-based Crump Soda Company, the brand was acquired by Eli Fox in 1853, giving birth to the Crump & Fox Soda Company. The name, ingrained in the town's memory, seamlessly transitioned to the golf club, serving as a fitting tribute to the community's roots. Over the decades, Crumpin-Fox has become synonymous with excellence, a testament to the legacy established by those who envisioned it. Our enduring commitment lies in ensuring that every golfer who steps onto our course receives an authentic and unforgettable experience, one that embodies the spirit of the game and the warmth of hospitality.
A Culinary Journey at Zeke's Grill
No round at Crumpin-Fox is truly complete without a visit to Zeke's Grill, a cherished landmark that has been serving up comfort food favorites for over 25 years. Named after a stray pup who wandered onto the course in 1991 and eventually found a loving home with Bill and Beth Sandri, Zeke's Grill has become a fixture at the club's 19th hole. Our menu features classic pub fare that's sure to please golfers, locals, and visitors alike, all prepared with a focus on quality and simplicity. In 2017, we expanded our outdoor dining area, introducing The After-Deck at Zeke's and a spacious pavilion for larger groups, further enhancing the ambiance and providing breathtaking views of the 18th green. Whether you're seeking a post-round respite or simply a delightful meal in a relaxing setting, Zeke's Grill is the perfect destination.
