Pit River Health Service

Pit River Health Service, Inc. (PRHS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) ambulatory health clinic established in 1979. Our mission is to serve the community, with a primary focus on the American Indian population. We provide a range of services including Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health services, Transportation, Outreach, and Senior Nutrition services. Our clinics are located in Burney, CA, and on the Pit River Tribal reservation in Alturas, CA. We welcome both Native and non-Native patients and accept Medi-Cal, Partnership, Medicare, and most private insurances.

Services Offered

Our Medical department offers services such as general medicine, family practice, pediatrics, prenatal, gynecology, ambulatory acute care, chronic pain management, and routine health maintenance. We also provide Podiatry and Telemedicine services by appointment. Our Dental department includes a full-time Dentist and Dental Hygienist, providing comprehensive dental care. The Behavioral Health Department offers a variety of services including counseling and therapy. Our Outreach team provides health education and community health services. Additionally, we offer Senior Nutrition services and operate two clinics.

Clinic Expansion

We have completed the Final Environmental Assessment for the New Tribal Health Clinic, which includes a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and a Notice of Availability for the FONSI. This marks an important step towards expanding our healthcare services to better serve the community.
