We are a martial arts school celebrating 30 years of service to our community. Our focus is on teaching the classical Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do, a tradition founded by the legendary Kwan Jhang Nim Hwang Kee that offers students a well-rounded, complete curriculum. Our teaching aims to challenge the mind, body, and spirit of each and every student dedicated to achieving excellence in all areas of life. At our academy, you will learn self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-defense through the art of Tang Soo Do.
Our Master Instructor
Sa Bom Nim Brett Riley, our head instructor, began his Tang Soo Do training as a Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in January 1981. He tested for Cho Dan (first-degree black belt) in November 1989 at the Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey. Master Riley has since passed his Sahm Dan (third-degree black belt), Sa Dan (fourth degree black belt), and O Dan (fifth degree black belt) tests. He has had a twenty-year competition career and has won fifteen National Championships and two Master's Grand Championships. Master Riley has also coached Team Texas to five Team Sparring National Championships, and he is the inaugural President of the Unites States Alliance of Tang Soo Do.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to our students, including:
- Classes: We have a variety of classes available for all levels and ages, from beginner to advanced. Our class schedule includes open classes, Tai Chi classes, competition classes, and Kodanja classes for third-degree black belts and up.
- Instructors: Our master instructors, Sa Bom Nims, and certified instructors, Kyo Sa Nims, are dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and support to all of our students.
- Resources: We offer various resources, including a gallery, other area schools, and protected pages with additional information and materials.
- Special Programs: We also offer women's self-defense seminars, weight loss counseling, life coaching, private lessons, martial arts uniforms & equipment, and birthday parties.
