Veterinary Care Specialists in Hartford City
Founded in 1997, Hartford Animal Clinic has been dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care for small and large animals across east central Indiana. With two locations in Hartford City and Farmland, we combine compassionate care with advanced medical services to meet the needs of pets and livestock. Our team of experienced veterinarians, including Drs. Bryan and Camela Schmitz, Dustin Decker, and MacKenzie Kennedy, brings decades of expertise in preventive care, surgery, and emergency medicine. We prioritize personalized treatment plans tailored to each animal's unique health requirements. Our clinics feature in-house diagnostic labs, digital radiography, and full surgical capabilities to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment. For large animals, we offer ambulatory services to farms, excluding equine care, while referring specialized cases to trusted partners. Our commitment to community extends through educational outreach, 4-H involvement, and emergency care availability for large animals. With extended weekday hours, Saturday appointments, and 24/7 emergency support for farmers, we strive to make quality veterinary medicine accessible to all pet and livestock owners. Our facility in Farmland, established in 2013, maintains the same high standards of care that have defined our practice for decades.

Services
Wellness Exams
Annual physical exams detect dental disease, allergies, arthritis, and internal conditions through comprehensive evaluations. Our doctors monitor health changes and recommend preventive care tailored to your pet's lifestyle. Early detection of thyroid or heart issues improves treatment outcomes.
Emergency Care
24-hour emergency services available for large animals with immediate veterinarian support. Small animal emergencies receive after-hours guidance, while daytime visits allow direct clinic access. Critical cases receive priority scheduling with pre-visit coordination.
Surgery
Soft tissue surgeries including spays, neuters, and mass removals performed under gas anesthesia. We handle fracture repairs and ACL procedures with specialized orthopedic techniques. Preoperative diagnostics ensure surgical safety for each patient.
Radiology
Digital radiography detects bone fractures, internal obstructions, and organ abnormalities. Our in-house equipment provides immediate imaging for accurate diagnostics. X-rays help assess joint health, tumors, and gastrointestinal issues during urgent or routine care.
Large Animal Services
Ambulatory veterinary services for farm animals excluding horses. Our team performs on-site evaluations and treatments for cattle, small ruminants, and other livestock. Preventive care includes herd health management and reproductive evaluations across central Indiana farms.
