Embrace Change, Experience Growth

Lessig Counseling is a trusted and compassionate environment where individuals, families, and caregivers can seek guidance and support. Our experienced counselor, Pam Lessig, has dedicated her life to helping others navigate through life's challenges. With over 20 years of experience in the Asheville-Hendersonville area, Pam has worked in various settings, including mental health organizations, medical communities, and church organizations.

Practice and Philosophy

At Lessig Counseling, we believe that most change occurs in trusted relationships where one feels valued and heard. Our approach is centered around creating a safe and compassionate space where our clients can explore their life issues and personal choices. We aim to uncover faulty thinking that results in damaging patterns of relating, helping our clients understand who they are and who they want to become. Through this process, we work together to develop strategies for change, growth, and healing.

Pam uses a variety of counseling theories, including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, relational approach, and talk therapy. She considers the spiritual, psychological, social, and biological dimensions of each client. Our services include individual, marriage and family, and group therapy.

Services Offered

At Lessig Counseling, we understand that every individual has unique needs and challenges. That's why we offer a range of services tailored to meet the specific requirements of our clients. Our services include:

  • Individual and Family Therapy: Pam has extensive experience working with adolescents to aging adults, focusing on issues such as marriage and family dynamics, stress and depression, codependency, end-of-life issues, loss, guilt, and life transitions, as well as spiritual issues.
  • Caregiver Support: Pam has a particular specialty working with caregivers overwhelmed with dementia issues and those experiencing memory problems. She understands the emotional and practical challenges caregivers face and provides them with the necessary tools and support to navigate these difficulties.
  • Marriage and Family Dynamics: Our marriage and family therapy services aim to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships within families. We help families understand each other's perspectives, work through challenging situations, and build a more harmonious home environment.
  • Stress and Depression: Life can be overwhelming, and stress and depression are common issues many people face. Our counseling services help individuals identify the sources of their stress and depression, develop coping strategies, and work towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.
  • Codependency: Codependency can be a destructive pattern in relationships. At Lessig Counseling, we help individuals recognize codependent behaviors, develop healthier boundaries, and cultivate more balanced relationships.
  • End-of-Life Issues: Dealing with end-of-life issues can be emotionally challenging. Our counseling services provide a safe space for individuals to process their feelings, make difficult decisions, and find peace during this difficult time.
  • Loss, Guilt, and Life Transitions: Life is full of transitions, and each transition can bring its own set of challenges. Our counseling services help individuals navigate these changes, process their emotions, and find a sense of purpose and direction.
  • Spiritual Issues: Spirituality is an essential aspect of many people's lives. At Lessig Counseling, we understand the importance of addressing spiritual issues in the counseling process. We help individuals explore their spiritual beliefs, values, and practices, and integrate them into their daily lives.
