At Heritage Land Surveying & Engineering, we are dedicated to providing exceptional land surveying and engineering services to our clients in Western Massachusetts. With over 45 years of experience, our team of highly knowledgeable and experienced professionals has been serving the communities of Hampshire and Hampden counties. Our friendly staff members work closely with a variety of clients, including those with residential, commercial, or municipal properties, as well as architects and other professionals.

Our team has extensive experience in a wide range of services, including boundary, topographical, and construction layout surveys, mortgage inspection, ALTA/ACSM title insurance and land court surveys, municipal roadway and utility surveys, and engineering design for subdivisions, individual sites, and roadways. Additionally, we provide CAD design for architects and engineers, deed studies and historical research, percolation and soil testing by certified soil evaluators, wetland identification, and permitting.

Our History

Heritage Land Surveying & Engineering, Inc., formerly Heritage Surveys, Inc., opened its doors in October of 1976. Our headquarters is located in the scenic and peaceful Western Massachusetts town of Southampton. Inside, our staff works on a state-of-the-art networked computer system while the field crew visits sites throughout Hampshire and Hampden counties, collecting data. Our team works like a close-knit team, with most employees having worked at Heritage for more than ten years, and several having more than 20 years of experience.

As a result, we are able to provide a continuity of service that many clients greatly appreciate, and we often can build from an established base of information for individual projects. Our President, Bruce Hunsaker, leads our staff, which works cooperatively with other consultants and professionals such as architects, engineers, attorneys, landscape architects, foresters, photogrammetrists, and environmental professionals. We frequently pull together a team of professionals to provide comprehensive supervision and coordination of all services for a particular project.

Technological Improvement

Heritage Land Surveying & Engineering has been on the leading edge of technological improvement since its establishment. We were one of the first firms in the region to use and become proficient with the AutoCAD and Softdesk programs. For many years, our staff members have been obtaining field measurements of angles and distances electronically, then downloading the data into our state-of-the-art computer system. Our employees have undergone training courses in the use of field and office equipment.
