Geise Funeral Chapel

Geise Funeral Home has been serving the Estelline, Lake Norden, and Castlewood communities for many years. The funeral home was established in 1948 by Ray and Blanche Ellsworth in Estelline. They operated the business until 1968 when it was sold to Darald and Leota Geise, who continued to run it as Geise Funeral Home until 1986. The business was then sold to Pioneer Enterprises Inc., with Darald staying on as the manager until 1989. Orv Gedstad took over as manager until his retirement in 2016, followed by Nic Polly until he moved on to a different funeral home in Rapid City. Currently, Logan Brandriet is the acting manager of Geise Funeral Home.

Over the years, visitation chapels have been added in Castlewood and Lake Norden to better serve those communities. Our goal has always been to provide the most compassionate and personalized service to every family that walks through our doors.

*Logan Brandriet, Manager/Funeral Director*

Logan Brandriet joined our team in May 2018. He is an Arlington native, having graduated from high school there in 2017. Logan went on to attend South Dakota State University and Des Moines Community College, where he graduated from their Mortuary Science Program in the spring of 2022. Logan became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in June of 2022. His dedication to serving our communities is evident in his compassionate approach to helping families.
