VIPPA believes in the crucial role renewable energy plays in mitigating the devastating effects of climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for Vermont. We advocate for and empower independent renewable power producers across the state.

Who We Are

Founded in 1998, VIPPA represents over 50 independent hydroelectric and wood-powered generating facilities across Vermont. These diverse projects generate approximately 7% of the state's electricity, providing clean energy to homes and businesses while minimizing environmental impact.
