At Crossroads Counseling Center, we are dedicated to providing quality, cost-effective treatment that encompasses social and emotional issues, integrating home, school, and community resources. Our mission is to help individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan navigate through their challenges and improve their mental health and well-being.

Our History

Crossroads Counseling Center was founded in 1973 by Guy Shilts, Bob Long, and Professor Dick Wagner in a store front on Main Street in Janesville. Over the years, we have expanded our services and locations to better serve our community. In 2002, we began a new initiative providing the first South-Central Wisconsin Child-Adolescent Day Treatment Program, followed by a School Based Day Treatment Program in 2008. We were one of the first State certified outpatient clinics for mental health services in Wisconsin.

Our Team

Our dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of professionals collaborates to provide evidenced-based, trauma-informed approaches which demonstrate our commitment to cultural humility, strengths-based interventions, empowerment, and the dignity and respect our clients and community deserve. Our staff includes experienced therapists, counselors, and support staff who are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives.

Our Services

We offer a variety of services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual, including:

• Day Treatment: A structured program that provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals who require more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient services but do not need inpatient care.
• Outpatient: Individual, group, and family therapy sessions tailored to address specific mental health and substance use issues.
• SPSD Program: A specialized program designed to provide support and services for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

We have three convenient locations to serve you:

• Janesville Location: 17 S. River St. Suite 254, Janesville, WI 53548. Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-7:00PM, Friday 8:00AM-11:00AM.
• Sun Prairie Locations: 722 and 821 Lois Drive, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.
