The PHS Band Booster Club program has been a cornerstone of music education and artistic excellence since 1989. Our comprehensive program includes three concert ensembles, a nationally recognized marching band, and specialized groups like jazz and percussion ensembles. Under the leadership of experienced directors, including current Director of Bands Katie Kilroy, we have consistently earned superior ratings and first-place awards in regional and state competitions. The Pride of Providence Marching Band has achieved historic milestones, including finalist positions at Bands of America Regional Championships. Our students regularly excel in district and state honor bands, with many alumni pursuing music degrees and professional performance opportunities.We emphasize artistic growth, technical mastery, and collaborative performance experiences that prepare students for future success in music and beyond. Our program serves over 200 students annually while maintaining strong community partnerships through the Band Boosters organization. Marching Band
The Pride of Providence Marching Band performs at school events and competes regionally. This ensemble combines musical excellence with visual artistry through choreographed field performances. Members develop technical proficiency while participating in one of Charlotte's most decorated marching programs.
Wind Ensemble
Our top concert ensemble performs complex repertoire at the highest artistic level. Selected through competitive auditions, members receive specialized instruction while preparing for state and regional music festivals. This group represents the pinnacle of our program's musical achievement.
Jazz Band
This select group focuses on jazz improvisation, swing arrangements, and contemporary big band repertoire. Members develop improvisational skills while performing at school concerts and community events throughout the year.
Color Guard
The Color Guard enhances performances with flags, props, and choreography. This specialized group trains in dance, equipment handling, and visual storytelling to complement musical performances during marching season.
Percussion Ensemble
