Since 1852, Breitbach's Country Dining has stood as Iowa's oldest continuously operating food and drinking establishment. Our legacy began under a federal permit from President Millard Fillmore and has been nurtured through six generations of family ownership. Despite two devastating fires in 2007 and 2008, we maintained operations throughout rebuilding phases, demonstrating unwavering commitment to our community. Today, our renovated space combines historic charm with modern comforts, offering daily homemade buffets featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared using traditional methods passed down through generations.
