At Mental Health America of Aiken County, we are committed to promoting positive mental health and well-being in our community. As a community-based nonprofit organization, we advocate for those living with mental illness and work to promote the overall mental health of all individuals in Aiken County.

Our Mission

Our mission is to serve as a community resource and advocate for those affected by mental illness. We strive to promote mental health and prevent mental illness through advocacy, education, research, and services. Through our grassroots efforts, we collaborate with affiliates, volunteers, and supporters to advance and promote our mission.

Our Programs and Initiatives

We offer a range of programs and initiatives that promote mental health and prevent mental illness. Our community outreach programs include suicide prevention, Don't Duck Mental Health, Nurture Home, Welcome Baby, and Operation Santa. These programs are designed to educate, support, and empower individuals and families affected by mental illness.

About Our Community Outreach Programs

Our community outreach programs are designed to reach individuals and families in need. Our suicide prevention program aims to prevent suicide through community education and collaboration. Don't Duck Mental Health is a free public awareness and education program that teaches basic coping skills for mental health and aims to eliminate mental health stigma at a young age. Nurture Home is a transitional housing program for women suffering from mental illness, providing a stable educational environment of personal growth, healthy living, medical treatment, financial education, job coaching, and finally, successfully re-entering society. Welcome Baby provides critical educational materials to each patient at Aiken Regional Medical Center who has a baby, focusing on postpartum emotions and mental health concerns. Operation Santa, held annually, provides for this population by meeting emotional and physical needs.
